Loc Care

We do not use ANY products to maintain Locs.

Please do not use any products to retwist your Locs.

This info is to help other lockers to be proactive.

You must keep your Locs clean and there are a lot of lockers afraid of washing their Locs because they want to keep a fresh retwist. Clean Locs are more important. Typically, you should wash your Locs at least once a week. If you work-out or perspire, even more. If your scalp is itchy or flaky, there is no oil or product that can fix that, you simply need to wash your scalp and Locs. We also recommend you see a dermatologist for scalp conditions.

Sweat, which turns into “dirt”, “flakes”, or “dandruff” from dry scalp is build-up.

Thinning: Any tension, direct heat, tight styles, over manipulating your Locs, putting protective styles over your Locs, tight ponytails, wigs, cotton headwraps, stocking caps, baseball caps, bleach, color, products, pre-existing medical conditions, stress, and alopecia can cause thinning.

Build-Up: No comb-coils, no gel, no wax, no butter, no honey, no coconut, no aloe, no flaxseed, no conditioner, no palm-rolling, no combs, no build-up, no thinning, and please keep your Locs covered whenever they come in contact with any kind of fabric to avoid lint.

Bleaching and coloring your locs is also a risk of thinning and breakage. You should seek a professional licensed colorist that specializes in coloring locs.

Loc Regimen

Hydrate your Locs with Rosewater or Spring water in the mornings as needed.

Massage a light moisturizing oil on your loss once a week before you shower.

Every 7-10 days. Not too much.

Remember not to over oil, a little bit goes a long way.

Wear your Loc Soc to bed.

Avoid laying your head anywhere without your Loc cap on to prevent lint. Also when you are dressing keep your loc cap on to avoid unraveling and lint.

For Washing: Wash with a clarifying shampoo first, then a moisturizing conditioning shampoo (2-3 washes). Rinse thoroughly.

Only put oil sheen or a small amount of light moisturizing oil on your Locs.

(Starter Lockers) It takes 6-12 months for your Locs to completely lock

Please avoid twisting.
